MITERS TOUCH FINE WOODWORKING

Miters Touch
makes art within the functional context of furniture-making and cabinetmaking. Founded in 1982 by Denise Grohs, this small company of three woodworkers and one office manager produces fine furniture and custom cabinets with an artist’s eye for detail.
Denise Grohs started her career in New York City, apprenticing in an architect’s cabinet shop, and after moving to Boone NC in 1979, pursued an M.A. in Industrial Education and Technology, honing her furniture-making skills at Appalachian State University. She has studied art her entire life and sees the development of designs for furniture, kitchens and other functional needs as the expression of her creativity.
Miters Touch specializes in using domestic hardwoods like cherry, walnut, and curly maple in pieces which provide beauty, subtlety and pleasure for their owners, while serving an important function in the home. The team of fine woodworkers builds furniture and cabinets with precision and relies on their well of woodworking knowledge to build pieces meant to last for generations.
